Dear fantastic parents,
This week:
* In gym we played Diamond Tag, Skittles, Plank Tag and we also practiced throwing at the targets. This afternoon we will play Dungeon Ball with Div. 8 after we finish writing the blog.
* In math we practiced our addition and subtraction and also we started learning about multiplication. We learned how to multiply by 0 and 1. The rule for zero is that if you multiply by zero it always equals zero. The rule for X1 is that it is always the number you are multiplying by one.
* In Library we were going to listen to a story, but our librarian said we didn't have time. Then Mr. Marta and Mrs. Marta said yes we do! And we listened to Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
* In Social Studies we started an indigenous art. It was about the legend of the ladybug. We also learned that there are three indigenous groups in Canada: First Nations, Metis and Inuit.
We also learned a lot about Coast Salish art. They use different shapes like trigons, u-shapes, circles, ovals and crescents. They also mostly use the colours green, black and red in their art.
* We started learning handwriting this week. If you are in grade 3 you have to learn handwriting. If you are in grade 2 you could choose to do handwriting or practice your printing.
* In Music today we learned a little dance with sticks. The pattern was tap on your lap and click. With a partner you do right hand and hit them together and left hand and hit them together. We also learned about Johann Sebastian Bach.
* Mrs. Marta made a boring story and then we helped her jazz it up by adding more details and interesting events.
We hope you have a spectacular day!
From,
