Dear incredible families,

This week:

* In gym we played Dungeon Ball, Diamond Tag, Octopus and Zombie Tag.

* In STEM we did Scratch JR. We typed codes and made our little sprite move. We used yellow, blue, purple, red and orange. The different colours make different things happen.

* In Social Studies we learned about New Brunswick and Nova Scotia this week. Nova Scotia means "New Scotland". New Brunswick is the birthplace of the Canadian military.

* In music we learned the cup song from watching a video. It goes like this: clap, clap, ta-ble, ta-ble, clap, up, down.

* We finished our old puzzle and started the new puzzle that Ms. Melanie and Ms. Sofie gave us. It is space themed and has 1000 pieces. There are special pieces in the shape of planets, stars and an astronaut. So far we have finished two 1000 piece puzzles.

* In science we have been talking about water.

Yesterday we learned that 2.1 billion people in the world don't have clean water to drink.

* In math we have been working on division. For example, 20 divided by 4 equals 5. But, 21 divided by 4 equals 5 R. 1. (we just learned about remainders today).

* We got two postcards this week. One was from Nova Scotia and one was from Russia.

We hope you have a fantastic weekend.

 Dear amazing families,

This week:

* In gym we played Diamond Tag and Octopus. We also practiced doing track with the batons. We had different coloured teams. To show our teams we wore pinnies.

* We received three postcards this week. One was from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Today we got two. One was from California and the other was from Virginia. In California their nickname is the Golden State and they also have a Golden Gate Bridge. They had a 7 year long gold rush a long time ago.

* This week we made Mother's Day presents. It is a surprise! You will see it on Sunday.

* In Stem we used iPads to do coding. We used Scratch Jr. Our goal was to move the Scratch Cat to the other side.

* In Sporcle we got a new record. We named 137 countries. We beat our old record by 1! We forgot Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Belgium, Nepal, Laos, and Costa Rica.

* This week learned about Ontario. Ontario has the biggest waterfall in Canada (Niagara Falls). Toronto is the capital of Ontario. Ottawa, which is the capital of Canada is also in Ontario. There is a castle in Toronto called Casa Loma. The population is 14.57 million. When you are in Ontario you can fly a flight simulator. The CN Tower is the tallest building in Canada.

* In Music we played with the boomwhackers. We played the Star Wars Imperial March and It's Corn.

* We celebrated E.Z's pretend birthday this week because her birthday is in July.

We hope you have a splendid weekend!
