Dear good parents,
This week:
* We have gym this afternoon. We are going to practice throwing at a target and then play two games.
* In Social Studies we started to make our Inuit books. Everyone has to do at least four pages. B.K. already has 10 pages!!!!!!!!!!
* We have been working on a very hard art this week. It is of the aurora borealis. We have to make an Arctic animal looking at the northern lights. We are using soft oil pastels. They are very hard to blend. We did a rough copy first to practice. Then we are doing a good copy.
* This week we jazzed up a very boring story that Mrs. Marta wrote. The story was about a bunny who needs to find his carrots.
* In math
* In outdoor ed. we learned about animal tracks. We also played a game called "Banana Peel". It had three taggers. When you get caught you stand with your hands over your head like a banana. To get free someone has to gently open your hands.
* H.H. brought in her pennies to show us. She put vinegar on hers at home. They turned very blue and green. Some of the pennies had white stuff on it, but now that is turning light blue and silver. We think hers turned more green because she only put vinegar on one time. The pennies turn green because the oxygen reacts with the copper in the penny. Then it makes blue or green stuff called malachite. The vinegar makes it go faster.
Have a fun weekend!
