This week:
* We have finished learning our dance, and now we are polishing it. We will keep practicing and present it at the February assembly.
* This week is Literacy week and we have been guessing mystery readers. We also drew a favourite book, character or reading spot on a little circle. Ms. Bell is going to put the whole school's circles on the bulletin board outside the library. This afternoon we are having the read-a-thon. You could read with a buddy, or your siblings, or just read by yourself. Half of the people in our school will go to the gym to read for 30 minutes, and then the other half of the people in our school will go.
* We got postcards from Finland and the United States. We sent postcards to Taiwan, U.S.A. and Japan. We learned that Finland has a lot of Northern Lights. The Northern Lights come from the sun. When the particles pop they make colour. From outer space the northern lights look like a ring around the North Pole and the southern lights look like a ring around the South Pole. In Finland they are also a big fan of the Moomins! We also learned that Taiwan is a really small country but they have a lot of people there.
* In gym we played Zombie Tag, Diamond Tag, Octopus, Angry Cats and Everybody's It.
* In math we are still working on multiplication. We can play the math game "Knock It Off" to practice. The regular ones are 2, 5, and 10. If you want to challenge yourself you can play 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 or 9!
* In handwriting this week we learned the c and the a.
* In music we learned how to play steel tongue drums. We used them to play poison pattern.
* In STEM we listened to the book The Duckling Gets a Cookie?! and made Lego characters from books. After we made one character from a book then we could make anything we wanted (as long as it's appropriate!)
We hope you have a lovely day!
