Dear fabulous families,
This week:
* In Stem we got to play with tiny Ozobots. We also did some Eid colouring on the iPads.
* In Social Studies we learned about Saskatchewan. The capital city is Regina. Saskatchewan is in between Alberta and Manitoba.
* We got a postcard from New Zealand this week. We also got a postcard from L.S. She is in Japan right now.
* This week in Sporcle we only got 127. Next week we will remember: Romania, Haiti, Monaco, Belgium, St. Kitts and Nevis, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo and Tajikistan.
* We had student led conferences this week. Thank you for coming wonderful families to see all of our work! During the conferences there was a book fair in the library.
* Today we read a book called The Idea Jar. At the end of the story Mrs. Marta drew a jar and we put ideas in it that we could use to make stories. Mrs. Marta says they were very inventive and funny. For instance, there was a cookie-eating cat.
* We have been working on a thousand piece puzzle. It is about different places in Canada. We are more than half done!
* Earlier this week we did gymnastics. Now the equipment is down. So this morning we played games. We played zombie tag, jewel thief and diamond tag.
* In art we looked at some indigenous art from BC and from New Zealand. We made art using chalk to draw shapes (that might have just been shapes you like or represented a story). After, we used oil pastels to fill in the empty space. Then we washed all the chalk off (the oil pastels are waterproof and didn't come off). If you want to see them they are in the hallway outside our classroom!
We hope you have a fantastic weekend!
From,
Mrs. Marta's intelligent, super, kind, happy, sparkly, trustworthy, caring, artistic, graceful, smart, silly, amazing, and fantastic students
